At Lake Group Strata we have a growing and wonderful team of people on hand to help. Whilst we have Strata Managers that oversee each of our managed plans and strive to be able to provide each and every client with the upmost level of professional service, we also have teams that specialise in certain areas vital to the management of your property, this allows for a detailed depth of knowledge that could not be achieved by one person alone.
At Lake Group, we have a company mantra to be better then we were yesterday and as a result, we have a high level of training and support for our team and that is increasing through 2026 and beyond.
Our CEO
Melanie Bird brings a wealth of strategic business experience to Lake Group Strata, along with a genuine passion for people, community, and doing things properly.
Since joining the business in early 2022, Mel has led with a strong focus on quality service, meaningful outcomes, and building a team culture where people feel supported, capable, and proud of the work they do. As a mum of three boys and a business leader, she understands the juggle of real life — and brings that grounded, practical perspective into how she leads both the team and the business.
In her role, Mel oversees the day-to-day operations of Lake Group Strata while keeping a clear eye on the future — driving growth, strengthening systems, and ensuring the business continues to evolve in a way that genuinely benefits clients and the community.
Mel is also deeply committed to giving back, with active involvement in local initiatives supporting people experiencing homelessness and broader community causes. For her, success in business is not just about performance — it’s about impact.
In 2024, Mel was recognised as the Large Business Leader of the Year at the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards and was also a finalist for the Hunter Region Business Leader of the Year, reflecting both her leadership and the strength of the team she leads.

Lake Group Strata prides itself on being owned by people that work within our business. This ownership structure ensures that the focus remains on our clients and our team and decisions are made with hands on knowledge and experience.

Our company is guided at a Board level by our 3 company Directors who collectively have over 50 years of Strata Management Experience.
Our Charity Partnership
For more than 30 years, Lake Group Strata has been proud to support the local community through a range of charities, sporting groups, and grassroots initiatives.
In 2024, we formalised this commitment by introducing a dedicated annual Charity Partner — an organisation nominated and selected by our team. Throughout the year, we don’t just raise funds; we roll up our sleeves, volunteer our time, and genuinely connect with the cause and the people behind it.
Our first official partnership in 2024 was with the Susan Roskell Toy and Gift Drive, where our team raised over $3,000 and donated a large number of toys to support children in need during the holiday season.
In 2025, we proudly partnered with Nova for Women and Children, raising just over $7,000 to support the incredible work they do for women and children in our community.
For 2026, we are honoured to be supporting Soul Hub Newcastle — an organisation doing vital work providing meals, support, and connection to people experiencing hardship. This is a cause close to our hearts, and we’re looking forward to making a meaningful contribution throughout the year.
